Lesleys Diary - Mercers Hall Concert
On Tuesday 20 April, Mark & I went to the Mercers' Hall to attend a Livery Reception & Concert performed by Musical Rendezvous.
Due to the Volcanic Dust, several people, including performers were unable to get there, but nevertheless we had an amazing evening! The programme ranged from singing by David Owen & Melissa Alder, violin & dancing (at the same time!) by Analiza Ching and a medley of Jazz Classics by the Tom Green Jazz Quartet : everything from 'We'll Gather Lilacs' to 'I could have danced all night' to the Great Britain Medley. It was fantastic! Afterwards, we were treated to a delicious Buffet Supper, which had not been mentioned on the invitation! I only mention this because as soon as we arrived, I knew I had dressed in the wrong outfit, as there were more suits & silk dresses!
I had chosen a dress, by Fox's, in a brown, purple & white design, which had a draped tulip skirt and three-quarter sleeves, accessorized by Membur shoes & bag. One of my favourites and very easy to wear, but I should have worn something a little more dressy! However, luckily there were quite a cross-section of outfits and I think I noticed my mistake more than others!
