Lesleys Diary - Ladies Luncheon at Leathersellers Hall
On Wednesday 28 April I was invited to the Ladies Luncheon at the Leathersellers' Hall; rather a select occasion which the Mistress Leatherseller holds each year, for The Lady Mayoress. The two Sheriffs' wives and 7 Livery Mistresses also attended.
We had a tour of the Hall and a most interesting talk given by the Archivist, Jerome Farrell. This was followed by a delicious lunch in the Reception Room, which has a magnificent Wilton carpet, hand-woven in one piece in the 1950s, depicting animals and coats of arms, including those of the other three top 'leathery' Livery Companies : the Saddlers, the Glovers & the Cordwainers. I was lucky enough to be sitting directly on top of the Cordwainer coat of arms!
I wore a cream & black suit by Nanette Lepore, accessorised with matching shoes & bag, by Jimmy Choo & Sachelle C
