Our guide to Trouser Trends SS10
The coming Spring/Summer 2010 sees a wide variety of trouser shapes from wide and slouchy, to slim leg and cropped.
Pegs, carrot top or harem trousers - whatever name you wish to give them are making a statement this coming Spring. Pulled in at the waist, left loose around the top of the leg and then tapering to the ankle - this is the peg. It is a great fashion look. To balance out the fullness of the trouser these are best worn with a slim or tucked in top. Make a style statement with a pair of heels and maybe team with sequins to create a glamorous luxe sport look.
Skinny trousers are still very much in evidence too; in cigarette pants, and also in the form of leggings or jeggings (jean-look leggings). This shape of trouser can take longer length, less structured shapes on top, to create a feminine look.
Wide leg and the full-waisted slouch trouser usually benefit from the structure of a belt whether worn with a loose shirt or silm top.
Don't be afraid to experiment with a new shape, but above all, wear a style that suits you and your lifestyle - and there is plenty of choice for everyone this season!
